Your data and privacy
Foglight has no accounts, no server-side storage of your writing, and no way for anyone else to read what you enter.
What is stored, and where
- Your Logbook entries, Notes For Later Me, Timeline Bridge, daily Light Check and Harbor safety plan are saved in this browser's localStorage, on this device only.
- The same is true of your Reality Anchors, Memory Detective columns, safe room, grounding backpack, Help Me Help You card, trigger recovery plan, therapist visit list and practice record.
- Newer tools store locally too: your Pocket Orientation Card, morning and evening lighthouse entries, the day timeline, messages in a bottle, gentle anchor settings, notes left after the fog lifts, your coping lighthouse bricks, the therapy journal, functioning tracker and appointment page, and which Academy lessons you've read.
- Reality Anchors, the Pocket Card, the Help Me Help You card and the therapy journal can hold particularly personal details — names, where you live, health information. Please consider who else can open this browser before using them.
- Nothing is transmitted to Foglight or to any third party. Anything you download or print leaves the browser's protection and is then yours to look after.
- The self-reflection tool, Fog Meter, Orientation Compass, 'I just came to' mode, the support-needs check, grounding games, the arcade, fog clearing, sound harbour and weather report save nothing at all.
- The motion preference toggle stores only a single on/off setting.
- The grounding laboratory keeps your own ratings of which activities helped, did nothing, or made things worse — plus your capacity level, functioning check answers, and any decisions you parked in Decision Delay.
- Night Watch stores nothing except a safe person's name and how to reach them, if you choose to add one. Communication cards and the relationship repair tool save the wording you write.
- 'You are more than this' saves your lists — music, food, people, plans, good things — in the same browser-only way.
Things worth knowing
- Anyone with access to this device and browser profile could open these pages and read what you saved.
- Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching device or browser will remove or hide your entries.
- If you are researching from a device that isn't safely yours, use the Quick exit button (or Shift + Escape) and avoid saving anything.
